What We Treat
PRENATAL AND BIRTH PREP
Whether you are trying to prepare for the "big event" or you have aches and pain from pregnancy or past injuries, a pelvic floor PT can aid in easing this season of life. Your therapist will offer education, breath work, manual therapy and exercises to aid in preparing you for an optimal labor and delivery.
URINARY INCONTINENCE
Pelvic floor therapy can address multiple aspects of urinary incontinence by strengthening and/or relaxing the pelvic floor muscles, as well as improving bladder control. At Pelvic Precision our goal is to not only reduce leakage, but return you back to optimal function.
MEN'S HEALTH
Pelvic floor dysfunction in men may show up as changes in bowel, bladder or sexual health, and they may even result in pelvic pain. Many of these issues are due to underlying muscle dysfunction and can be addressed by a pelvic floor physical therapist.
POSTPARTUM CARE
Following delivery, women may often experience pelvic floor dysfunction due to the stresses of pregnancy and childbirth. Pelvic floor therapy can aid in diastasis recti healing, urinary/fecal incontinence, perineal pain/tearing and C-section scar mobility.
CONSTIPATION AND BOWEL INCONTINENCE
The pelvic floor muscles play a crucial role in bowel function. Dysfunction in these muscles can contribute to chronic constipation and/or bowel incontinence. At Pelvic Precision we utilize a whole-body approach in addressing the contributing factors to your issues.
PEDIATRIC PELVIC FLOOR
Pediatric pelvic floor dysfunction can present as incontinence and/or constipation. Many children will go to suffer with bladder and bowel management into adulthood if it isn't properly treated. The cause of pediatric incontinence is often times related to lack of strength or coordination of the muscles that make up the pelvic floor.
PELVIC PAIN
Pelvic floor therapy is utilized in the treatment of pelvic pain conditions, such as: pelvic floor muscle spasm, tailbone pain, vulvar pain and pudendal neuralgia. Pelvic floor therapy can aid in reducing pain, discomfort and disruptions to your daily life
PELVIC ORGAN PROLAPSE
Pelvic organ prolapse occurs when one or more of the pelvic organs, such as the bladder, uterus or rectum, descend or bulge into the vaginal canal due to weakened or tight pelvic floor muscles and connective tissues. At Pelvic Precision we will aid in rebalancing the pelvic floor muscles, educate on proper breathing and pressure management strategies, and introduce exercises to improve the pelvic floor support system.
DRY NEEDLING
Dry needling is a form of treatment that utilizes thin, unmedicated needles to treat pain in muscles, ligaments, or tendons. Only a certified practitioner can perform this modality, in which the needle is inserted into the tight tissue that can be caused by injury, overuse or other factors. The goal is to stimulate the trigger points to help relax the muscle and relieve discomfort.
